Quick answer: Rhodiola is studied for mental fatigue under stress at 200 to 600 mg a day, with mixed results. L-theanine at 100 to 200 mg is linked to relaxed attention. Neither is a stimulant.
Rhodiola rosea
A cold-climate adaptogen. Some trials found less fatigue and better concentration during stressful periods such as exams or night shifts; others found no effect.
L-theanine
An amino acid from tea leaves associated with alpha brain waves and calm alertness. It works best alongside caffeine in studies, but MemoFix lists no caffeine.
Cautions
- Rhodiola may affect mood; care with antidepressants and bipolar disorder.
- L-theanine may add to blood pressure or sleep medicine.
